A beautiful deep red color. Aromatic richness (raspberry and mulberry). Good mouthfeel. Well balanced and good volume on the palate. A very present structure, with persistent tannins. A very fine and elegant wine. Serving suggestions: To be tasted with roasted poultry, roast pork or braised in its juice. Not to mention that it also accompanies the cheeses of our terroirs.
About the wine-making:
From the 2.81 ha Between 200 et 250 meters at the foot of the hillside of Corton. The grapes from the average of 52 years old vines are harvested by hand, and then vinified while respecting the integrity of the grape: whole berries for aromas; no use of pumps so as not to crush the grapes; no addition of yeast to maintain the authenticity of the terroir…
Clarification and maturation in French oak barrels for about 12 months. 1/3 in new barrels.
About the winery:
The Domaine is located in Aloxe-Corton, small village of the Côte de Beaune, in the heart of Burgundy. Located at the foot of the remarkable hill of Corton, the vineyard benefits from a rare exposure, going from the East, to South and South-West.
The family business is run by Didier, Thérèse and now Freddy Meuneveaux, their son who represents the 4th generation. Freddy is part of the new generation to deal with the 9 appellations on the 6 hectares of the Domaine. There are few wine growers in Aloxe-Corton and even fewer young ones…
