Region: Bordeaux, France
Producer: Chateau Croix de Labrie
Grape: 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc
The plots of Hauts de Croix de Labrie are located in the part of the estate that is the closest to Libourne. Here the soils are lighter with stony sand and produce more ethereal wines. This wine is made from fruit from our younger vines. It has red fruit and spicy aromas, and subtle, elegant tannins that are ripe and tasty. It can be kept for 10 years or more, but is very expressive when young.
Nice, deep ruby color. Intense and rich, with notes of blackcurrant and red fruits. Voluptuous, full-bodied and silky smooth, with no aggressiveness, the tannins seem to melt on the palate, while the finish is long and delicate, with plenty of finesse.
JS 92pts : Aromas of sweet tobacco with berries and chocolate. Some herb as well and hints of coffee beans. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a juicy finish. Drink or hold.
