About the Winery:
This jewel-box of an estate includes a triangle (2h) surrounded on two sides by the vines of Chateau Margaux itself. No coincidence since the former owners, the Grangeroux family, were cellar-masters at the famous Chateau and the vines were a parting gift after THREE GENERATIONS of service. When the Grangerou family decided to sell the property in 2008, they wanted it to put it in the hands of a young winemaker, preferably a couple who could coax the true potential of the vineyard and build it as a family legacy. Enter Julie and Xavier Gonet-Medeville. Julie and Xavier are among the brightest young talents in the wine world today. In many ways, Julie and Xavier are the first couple of French wines. Both hail from storied winemaking families: Julie’s family is famous for its incomparable Château Gilette, and Xavier comes from a long line of Champagne growers in Le Mesnil.
