This wine has a distinctly Pomerol style. The color is intense. The bouquet highlights ripe black fruits (blueberry), highlighted by a subtle oaky note. The palate, in unison, reveals itself to be generous, delicious, ample, and fresh at the same time. Unfolding a silky flesh supported by elegant spicy and licorice tannins, it leaves the memory of a well-constructed and persistent wine.
Food Pairing:
Lamb skewers, venison, roast meats and cheeses such as Maroilles and Saint Nectaire.
The vineyard
The vineyard of Château La Cabanne extends over 10 hectares of vines located on the West slope of the Pomerol plateau. The vines are planted on clay soils, including the famous blue clay veins of Pomerol, while the subsoil is made up of clinker with the presence of various metallic oxides. The vineyard benefits from HVE level 3 certification (High Environmental Value Level 3). The grape variety of the Château La Cabanne vineyard is typical of the Pomerol appellation with a majority presence of merlot (94%), complemented by cabernet franc (6%).
Vinification and aging
Vinification without sulfite. Aging for 15 months in barrels (55% new oak and 44% barrels of one wine).
