Grape: Bergeron (Rousanne)

Notes:
Bergeron is the local name for roussanne which thrives here on well-exposed south-facing slopes. The age of the vines is over 40 years old. Harvested by hand, the pressing is direct then cold settled (13°C for 24 hours).
The vinification is done in stainless steel vats, the importance for the wine-maker to
highlight the terroir of this plot. The MLF follows. The aging (9 to 12 months) on fermentation lees with indigenous yeasts is accompanied by some stirring.
Tasting:
A fresh impression of alpine air on the nose. Silky and light, it caresses the palate. With its good acidity and a fine, tapered finish, this has a crisp, refreshing, mineral-water nature, feeling very positive and nourishing. The embodiment of freshness in a white wine. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, with minimal sulphites. Grown on limestone slopes.
This plot gives a dry and fleshy Bergeron mixing dried apricots and notes of gingerbread. The 2021 vintage on this plot allowed us to have an intense, round mouth with a hint of salinity which ensures nice lengths. The name of the label is the family nickname of my paternal grandmother to whom the vines belong."
Food Pairing:
Aperitifs, melting raclette, hard cheeses, white meats like chicken, pork and fish in sauce ; a gratin dauphinois or even sushi and dumplings
