November is Beaujolais month! Each year, wine growers celebrate the release of the “Beaujolais Nouveau” on the third Thursday of the month. It’s light to medium bodied wine with red fruit aromas from the Gamey grape. A definite treat for any occasion.
This year we have a limited batch of “Beaujolais Village Nouveau” to share with you.
Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau is a more complex and fuller-bodied version of the standard Beaujolais Nouveau, made from Gamay grapes from the 38 designated Beaujolais-Villages appellations known for richer soils. This "primeur" wine is characterized by intense red and black fruit aromas, high acidity, and a vibrant, fresh palate, making it a more serious option for pairing with richer main courses compared to the simpler Beaujolais Nouveau. It's also typically more expensive than Beaujolais Nouveau and is best enjoyed young.
